BEER AND CHEDDAR HERB BREAD

Ingredients

3 cups flour

2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon + 2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon granulated garlic powder

2 teaspoons Dish off the Block Ciao Bella Italian Spice Blend

1 can beer (12-ounces), room temperature

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon butter, melted

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Whisk the flour, brown sugar, salt, baking powder, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning together in a large bowl.

Slowly stir in the beer until everything is just incorporated.  Do not overmix.

Fold in the cheddar cheese, reserving 2 tablespoons to sprinkle on top.

Pour the batter into a loaf pan prepared with non-stick spray and sprinkle the top with the reserved cheese.

Bake for 40-45 minutes until a tester inserted in the center comes out clean.  Brush the top with the melted butter and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes.  Remove the bread from the pan and cool on a wire rack for another 10 minutes before cutting.

Serve warm with butter.  Also delicious toasted.
