STRAWBERRY TRIFLE
Ingredients
3 quarts strawberries, hulled and sliced
½ cup sugar
2 boxes instant vanilla pudding
1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream
½ cup powdered sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 loaf pound cake
Instructions
Slice the strawberries and mix with sugar in a small bowl. Let sit until juices begin to form while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.
Make the pudding according to package directions and refrigerate until ready to layer the trifle.
Combine the cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla in the bowl of a stand mixture. Whip on medium high using the whisk attachment until thick whipped cream forms, about 2-3 minutes.
In a large trifle bowl create 3 layers beginning with 1/3 of the pound cake, broken into large pieces, followed by berries, pudding, and whipped cream. Repeat these layers until bowl is full, ending with whipped cream and garnishing with more strawberries.
Chill for at least 2-3 hours before serving.
My mom often makes this trifle for Easter and I love it!! Warning – it’s addictive!
